MUSIC FOR THE SEA CONCERT

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From September 30 to October 2, we watched the great CEDO Intercultural team led by Nélida Barajas work like a Swiss watch for the great event “Music for the Sea” and crystallize what was not only a great concert that took months of planning, but also an entire experience that included natural history talks yoga meditation, beach walks, hiking, and other daytime activities that the participants enjoyed.

The program was mainly designed to provide an opportunity for the communities of Rocky Point and some of the Sonora and Arizona border regions to interact, highlighting the bicultural vocation of this institution that for over 40 years continues to shine.

CEDO is constantly being reinvented, and today, it continues to embrace the generational and style change that comes with being up-to-date with the new era but always keeping its mission of environmental conservation in all its forms at the forefront.

In general, the three-day production was impeccable. Everyone worked in coordination to ensure the success of the multiple activities. They all deserve a special mention, but Armando Mendívil, the Stage Manager, deserves a special recognition because he was masterful.

CEDO Intercultural managed to make the different public and private institutions, and communities converge to join their cause. The attendees were able to perceive a high frequency of friendship and harmony in the different environments, all contributing to the idea that’s essential to continue working in a systematic and organized way to conserve the benefits of nature.

On the evening of Friday, September 30, we all enjoyed an intimate, sublime acoustic concert with great musicians who contributed all their talent to offer an unforgettable evening. The lineup featured Quetzal Guerrero, Salvador Duran, Brian Lopez, Tati Crespo, and Sergio Mendoza. But it was Salvador Duran who made the greatest impact and his notes will be kept in the heart of the vermilion sea and will continue to echo for eternity.

And as a welcome to the tenth month, precisely on Saturday October 1, apart from the great concert with dozens of musicians interacting on stage with great hubbub, happiness and dancing, the conviviality and exchange of cultures that were mixed between the notes and an unforgettable atmosphere prevailed. We were able to enjoy with all its interpretive force what was titled “The Big Show” with Orkesta Mendoza, Quetzal Mendoza, Salvador Duran, Agua De Coco, Mariachi Nuevo Azteca de Tucson, Tati Crespo, Golden Boots and, for the after party, Los Èsplifs DJ.

The acknowledgments did not wait; the joy flowed organically. Without a doubt, the genesis of this concert arose from the generosity of Charles Levy who proposed it to Nélida Barajas one fine day, adding the word “thanks” for all those involved, the partners, and the guests.
