MAC CEDO, a sister entity of CEDO Intercultural, currently offers a permanent volunteer program. We are now making a special call for volunteers for the Corporate Volunteer Program for the proposed communities and under the terms that support the activities described in this booklet.
Volunteer
Program The booklet introduces our Corporate Volunteer Program to identify volunteers according to their interests, profile, availability, location, and personal needs in accordance with our institutional goals. Volunteers are also considered as individuals who are seeking to do social service, a residency and/or an internship, or develop projects that contribute to MAC CEDO’s objectives. Prior knowledge of or practice in some professional, academic, or scientific activity is required. Volunteers will be provided with the necessary information and materials, as well as guidance from our professionals for the best experience. They will also be provided with the opportunity to learn and join in other activities. MAC CEDO has appropriate training facilities. Volunteering is carried out within MAC CEDO's lines of work, in both projects and field activities, as well as in research, environmental education, sustainable tourism, administrative activities, and institutional development, for which we have the appropriate facilities and technical equipment. Follow-up and evaluation are carried out by MAC CEDO staff who work directly on each of the particular activities. MAC CEDO is authorized to validate any and all activities performed by volunteers when required by their own company or organization, and is also authorized to receive donations and provide tax-deductible receipts. Evaluations are based on the results, the enthusiasm, the motivation, and the passion with which volunteers carry out their activities.

Volunteer Program
Volunteering is a constant source of talent that CEDO Intercultural has cultivated since our early days at the end of the 70s. The group of docents that were neighbors of our Campus, the Agustín Cortés Building in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, contributed hours to train themselves on educational subjects and communication skills about this iconic region, where the Sonoran Desert meets the Sea of Cortez.
Throughout the 40 years of CEDO Intercultural’s history, thousands of volunteers have participated in our programs. Today we are professionalizing our volunteer program and consolidating the experience of these past years always in alignment with our vision of Thriving coastal communities, sustainable livelihoods, and healthy ecosystems!
To fulfill our mission of fostering vibrant communities and resilient ecosystems in the Northern Gulf of California and other ecoregions by integrating people, knowledge and solutions, we need:
- Individuals committed to the planet.
- Lovers of nature, deserts and oceans.
- Individuals respectful of biological and cultural diversity.
- Individuals who are passionate about nature.
- Individuals who are concerned and work to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged people and groups.

On-line Volunteering
Wherever you are, your talent helps us! Our challenge is to reach the greatest number of people to grow the impact of CEDO Intercultural's mission.
We need talent for:

- Remote mapping.

CEDO Intercultural virtual volunteering offers an inclusive space for everyone to participate since it doesn’t involve any expense or travel. Anyone from anywhere in the world can apply and collaborate.
Corporate Volunteering
If you are interested in motivating and raising the awareness of your company, institution or association staff please consider the unique opportunity to collaborate with CEDO Intercultural. We need your talent, but we also want you to fall in love with the work we do with and for our communities.
This option includes developing a specific program tailored to your needs and based on this project model:
- Arrival in Puerto Peñasco. Living and working in paradise involves its share of travel. Whether by air or land, we organize a travel plan that best suits your needs.
- In Puerto Peñasco. You can settle yourself in our Campus where we offer accommodations and food, and a series of talks and preparatory activities for your volunteering.
- Activities. Experience working at the oyster ponds of Estero Morúa, monitoring biodiversity in the neighboring tide pools, becoming a citizen scientist to monitor migratory bird or sea lion species in Estero Morúa, taking part in beach and underwater clean-ups, and helping with solar energy activities, community gardens, and waste management in coastal communities
In-person Volunteering
We need enthusiastic people to positively impact community well-being with direct actions in the communities. We work in the fields of health, education, clean energy, nutrition, the environment and emergency aid.
We need talent in:
- Education.
- Tourism.
- Group management.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Residential maintenance.
- Mechanics.
We invite you to participate, especially if you reside in one of the communities of the Upper Gulf of California, where in addition to becoming a volunteer, you will have first-hand opportunities to improve your surroundings, both socially and environmentally.
