Annette Felix retired from teaching in the Tucson Unified School District. She is an avid diver and keen observer of marine communities in the Gulf of California. Raised in Tucson, Annette’s interest in the Gulf dates from early childhood visits to the beach at Puerto Peñasco, Sonora with her parents.

She has a long association with CEDO, serving as a volunteer, member of the board, and as a member of the executive committee at various times over its 40-year history. She holds a BS in Home Economics Education and MA in English as a second language with an endorsement in library science. She lectures in marine science and volunteers at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
