CEDO is seeking a bilingual (Spanish & English) intern with a keen interest in coastal, marine and desert habitats and species, willing and able to do administrative work, sales, and act as a professional naturalist guide for our eco-tourism program. This will likely be a 6 month to 1 year position, based at the CEDO Field Station in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, and include room & a stipend. There may also be an opportunity to be at the Tucson office part time and at the field station on weekends. The position is ideal for recent graduates interested in breaking into the fields of eco-tourism, conservation and field biology. Wet Feet Ocean Camp Summer Camp Counselor 2019
CEDO’s Wet Feet Summer Camp 2019, with YOUR help, could be our best camp yet!
Kids, ages 10-14, come to CEDO every summer to enjoy educational and recreational activities at camp. During the camp we visit San Jorge “Bird” Island, Morua Estuary, and the tide pools, but also we learn about the natural and cultural history of the Gulf of California. We play, dance, create, meet new people, watch movies, and do many other activities that kids will enjoy and will take knowledge and respect for the environment home with them.
If you have the minimum qualities and qualifications listed below, you are welcome to apply as a volunteer to CEDO’s summer camp to have a wonderful experience, working with kids and enjoying the magnificent beauty of the Upper Gulf of California and the Sonoran Desert.
At east 18 years old
English speaker (bilingual is even better)
Fun and outgoing personality
Sensitive to cultural differences
Some experience working with kids
General knowledge of marine biology and environmental studies
Enjoy outdoor activities and long days in the sun
Cooking ability (not obligatory)
Able to travel to Rocky Point
Able to stay in CEDO’s field station 3 weeks aprox. in late June, 2019
